Mapping

Another large design ideal in this show was to constrain some of the projections to various moving panels.  Three of these panels were flown in and out throughout the show and there were two stationary ones upstage.

Time Passing

Towards the end of the show we needed to shift from the ancient land of Kyoto Japan into a timeless purgatory setting to wrap up the story.  My idea for this was a sort of moving monochromatic clouds with imagery representing events prior in the show.

The Lightning

One of my favorite moments of this show to design was the lightning for the medium scene.

The CGI Birds

Visually referencing the previous scene I generated and designed a flock of birds to bring us into the next scene.

Process

The content for this show was about 95% new work—meaning very little was purchased stock footage / imagery.  This involved heavy videography work including:•Time-lapse generation

  • Computer Generated Imagery
  • Extensive edition
