Below is a view of the song in progress..
Noises off is about a fictional production called Nothing On and its cast. The first is set during tech/dress rehearsal. The players are imperfect at best in their composure. However the backstage tension and sorted love affairs make their performances grow worse in following performances. The degradation of order behind the scenes leads to several hilarious moments that are certain to cause the audience to erupt into laughter.

My Approach:
We needed a song to introduce the play within the play so I chose to compose something very similar to the “bright side of life” in Ableton live. The final song is composed with ten different custom configured instruments.
These microphones on the "SM Podium" needed function in different ways. The left microphone was a house 'god' microphone and the right was a backstage microphone. These both worked in the actual house and the backstage.
A challenge with making these work was that the entire set itself was on a turntable and rotated a full 360 degrees during the show. I instructed the back stage hands / stage manager to disconnect the cable runs prior to the stage's rotation. However to accommodate for the possibility that the cables might be forgotten at some point I designed breakaway XLR connectors/cables that would automatically disconnect cleanly from the stage upon rotation (& 4lbs of force).
